夏普社長戴正吳昨（4）日公布寫給媒體的賀年信，信中除了回顧2016年自己歷經接任夏普總裁、夏普轉型，還說明今年將布局電視品牌授權，重返歐洲，並且期許自己帶領夏普實現盈利，返回東京證券交易所第一部。
戴正吳表示，夏普的目標，就是秉持“one sharp”政策，將和最大股東，也就是鴻海集團發揮協同作用，達到收入和實現盈利能力，並返回東京證券交易所第一部。
戴正吳信中提到，他接任夏普總裁後，公司每步的布局策略都以“Be Original”－－夏普新的企業革言為準則；並宣布夏普的今年目標：包括2月將收購歐洲電視品牌授權商UMC、擴大與AI和物聯網相關的AIoT相關產品，希望重獲所有利益相關者的信任，在2017年「翅膀飆升至更高」。
戴正吳指出，未來將繼續擴大與AI和物聯網等AIoT相關產品，以實現對智能家居、智能辦公、智能工廠、智能城市連接的智能社區的願景，我們將加快我們的行動，創造展示夏普原創性的產品和服務。
對於日本東京奧運，戴正吳更是做好了準備，他說，寬帶衛星數字廣播接收機兼容8K（超高清晰度或超高清晰度）在去年10月舉行的CEATEC JAPAN 2016展覽會上獲得內務和通信部（MIC）獎，接收器是他們致力於開發8K和下一代廣播設備的相關技術的一部分，以支持將於2018年在日本開始的8K廣播的準備。
戴正吳表示，通過他們的整體實力，希望重獲所有利益相關者的信任，並在2017年將夏普的翅膀飆升至更高。

As many of you are aware, Sharp introduced a new management system on August 13, 2016, and as part of that important transition, I assumed the position of President tooversee its implementation. Our immediate task was to introduce new Basic Management Policies as part of our plan to achieve profitability as soon as possible and to rebuild Sharp as an iconic global brand. Since then, we have diligently and successfully executed the plans and reforms.

Integral to this process was our announcement of our “One SHARP” policy to drive greater collaboration throughout our company and to reinforce our overall strengthand capabilities. Success in doing this is critical to our efforts to expand our business and meet the expectations of all our stakeholders. We also introduced a new corporate motto, “Be Original.”, a motto that builds on our heritage and the spirit and values of “sincerity and creativity” that have guided Sharp over the past 104 years since our founding. “Be Original.” is our commitment to our customers to provide innovative products and services that are unique to our company.

Last year, we were able to create new products that reflect our commitment to “Be Original.” These include RoBoHoN, a mobile robotic phone, a chemical-free Plasmacluster air purifier with mosquito catcher, a Plasmacluster refrigerator with a storage battery that allows uninterrupted usage in the event of a power failure,and a griller that cooks with superheated steam. We are pleased with the positive market response to these and many other of our new products.

We were particularly pleased that our advanced wideband satellite digital broadcast receiver compatible with 8K (Super Hi-Vision or ultra-high definition) won theMinister of Internal Affairs and Communications’ (MIC) Award at the CEATEC JAPAN 2016 exhibition held last October. The receiver is part of our focus on developingrelated technology for 8K and next-generation broadcasting devices to support preparations for 8K broadcasting, which is scheduled to start in Japan in 2018.

We are applying “Be Original.” not only to our products but also to our company as well. In line with this, we reacquired our Tanabe building, the important andhistoric location where Sharp first started as a company, and we will use this as our base as we create new business models for future growth. In February this year,
we will acquire a majority stake in UMC Group, the brand licensee of our TVs for the European market, making UMC a consolidated company under Sharp, and enabling us tore-enter the European TV business.

This year, we will continue to expand our AIorelated products bringing together AI and IoT to realize our vision of a smart community, where “smart home”, “smart office”, “smart factory” and “smart city”are connected, and we will accelerate our actions to create products and services that demonstrate Sharp’s originality.

By utilizing our technological expertise, product development capabilities and sales force experience, which we have accumulated over our company’s 104-year history,and maximizing synergy with Hon Hai Group, our majority shareholder and the world’s largest consumer electronics manufacturer, we aim to grow our revenue and achieveprofitability, as well as return to the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
